Greetings my Nubian Queens!

There is a more personal side to my story that many of you might relate to. I have Alopecia, and like more than half of Black women who experience significant hair loss, I have had to explore alternative methods of hair coverage. My journey with Alopecia began in 2020, amid the challenges of Covid-19. Amidst grappling with the pandemic, I faced the heart-wrenching challenge of hair loss, relying on wigs and weaves. Despite this, I was determined to continue living life to the fullest—traveling, attending parties, and enjoying cruises. But the constant fear that my lace front wig might shift or fall apart haunted me. This concern was paired with the hassle of wearing eyelashes, a missing lash could mean panic and an immediate need for a replacement or simply going without them.

 

Yet, amidst these challenges, there was a silver lining. At that very wedding, I became the unexpected hero. With my handy lace front glue, I ensured the bridesmaids could walk down the aisle with confidence. I provided extra eyelashes for those in need and supplied overnight guests with lace front bands to protect their delicate edges. This experience illuminated the glaring absence of a travel kit specifically tailored to the needs of women of color like me. Despite scouring the internet and various stores, I found nothing that met our unique requirements.

 

It was then that I was struck by divine inspiration to create a kit that addresses both hygiene and hair care needs, topped off with the luxury of extra lashes.
